History of Abortion: “Genocide of African-American Babies” by Planned Parenthood Hotly Debated
Over the last few months here at women’s health blog Lively Women, we’re talking about the history of abortion in the US and around the world. Discussion is encouraged, and additional information and resources are welcomed. Please leave a comment!
I heard sound clip on Fox News today in which a woman accused the Planned Parenthood Federation of America of promulgating the "genocide of African-American babies" by accepting donations earmarked to fund the termination of pregnancies in black women. Of course this caught my interest. At first, I thought, "That’s just ridiculous." But then, they played another sound clip, in which an actor called an offered a donation specifically for that purpose, purportedly because there are too many black people out there — and the Planned Parenthood employee on the other end of the phone basically agreed with him. Yikes.
Here’s a video montage and sound recording of that call and some others:
According to a February 2008 Fox News article,
A spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood wrote FOX News that the group questioned the “authenticity of elements of these edited tapes” and added that Planned Parenthood had expanded its employee training program so that employees understand that “our organization helps all individuals — regardless of gender, race, or sexual orientation.”
… A Planned Parenthood spokeswoman wrote that the organization “denounces racial bias,” and “what is deeply troubling is that an opponent of reproductive health care is baiting Planned Parenthood employees with deceptive, politically motivated tactics.”
You can read other comments and summaries from Cybercast News Service, WorldNetDaily, and IdahoStatesman.com.
A second, considerably more incendiary video takes this a bit farther with additional sound clips and some potentially offensive video (nothing graphic, but there’s some KKK imagery, so be aware):
So, what do you think about this? Do we have a problem here? And whose problem is it? Leave a comment. Strong opinions are welcome, but please be respectful and decent. I will be moderating.

Hmmm….very disturbing. If it’s true.
I am generally skeptical about these sensationalist stories (no matter who is reporting), and when its Faux News reporting on a progressive agency, who knows how genuine the video clips — and whatever else — are.
But, obviously, there is a real problem if specific races are being targeted for abortion.

In the Philippines, abortion is a crime.
The Philippines is a predominantly Catholic country. The Church believes the fetus is already a human being, thus abortion would be considered murder.

OK, first let me calm down…
There, that’s a **little** better. I want to compose myself before I comment on this completely absurd way of doing business.
First of all, I DO believe that there are people who would love to see the Black race completely annihilated. Not gonna happen. Black people were brought to the United States, completely against their wills and forced into slavery for the economic gain of the White man. So if there are people who want them to “go away”, then why were they brought here in the first place?
Next, to say that a Caucasian child’s (or any non-ethnic) future is somehow altered because there are “too many” Black children in the colleges, in the workforce, etc. is simply crazy. The work model of the United States promotes hard work=fair pay. I do agree though that race based hiring practices are totally unfair and should be completely removed, X-ing Black children is not the answer. Fight reverse discrimination by exposing these types of behavior by speaking out and through lawsuits. Don’t go killing babies because things don’t work in your favor.
Now onto the abortion clinics and their take on this…
The directors of the clinics AND the clerks are just as guilty as the (bogus) caller. They are essentially ostrich-izing the issue (by sticking their heads in the sand and pretending its not happening) all for the sake of a buck. Sad. I was also quite annoyed by the giggling and the “uh-huh’s”, “understandables” and “yes, I see” that was sprinkled throughout the phone call while the caller was obviously not only being rude but even breaking a couple of laws, I think. Was this ALL for the sake of a dollar?
No.
Special interest groups have an agenda and they further their agendas by using these types of clinics to carry out their mission. Organizations like the KKK are still alive and strong and very active. We now live in a society where people don’t want to offend so they just smile and nod to keep from offending either side. If these special interest groups are allowed to have their way, they could in fact be successful in their mission to remove any part of society they deem unwanted.
There. I think I’ve said enough for now. Can’t wait to see what others think.

oh those wicked evil pro-lifers…trying to oppress women and children by trying to force their nefarious agenda of life on them!
50 million abortions this year…oh so much more compassionate to talk women into ripping out a part of herself….so natural too.
Why look at these evil pro-lifers:

“Let us beset the just one, because he is obnoxious to us; he sets himself against our doings, Reproaches us for transgressions of the law and charges us with violations of our training.
13 He professes to have knowledge of God and styles himself a child of the LORD.
14 To us he is the censure of our thoughts; merely to see him is a hardship for us…”
