Why I’m Not Jogging Even Thought I Want To
Hmm, I wonder if it’s some kind of strange psychological defense mechanism, but ever since the weather got nicer and my allergies kicked in, I have been feeling compelled to go running. Never mind the fact that I probably haven’t run 10 miles cumulatively in my lifetime. Never mind the fact that I can’t answer the phone, switch the laundry around, or roll over in bed without having a debilitating coughing fit. Never mind the fact that I can barely make it to the end of the driveway to get the mail right now with all of the pollen. My body is screaming for a run.
What do I do? As evidenced by my inability to do basically anything that isn’t required for minimal survival right now, I don’t think running around outside and wheezing is a great idea at the moment. Especially since my inhaler does virtually nothing when I’m gasping for air. It’s all I can think about. Maybe my body is trying to tell me something? Maybe running will be the answer to my chronic breathing issues.
What do you think? Any other out-of-shape allergy sufferers start jogging in early spring? Let me know.
