Yum, Cloned Goodness
Jennifer of The Daily Blender posted recently about a survey reporting that 78% of consumers are less than confident about the safety of cloned foods. Gee, ya think? Nothing negative toward Jennifer for posting this, but rather a big DUH to the people who are surprised that we’re not jumping up and down at the prospect of eating cloned foods. I mean seriously, they can’t even make a photocopy machine that doesn’t lose quality with repeated copies, yet they’re expecting people to just jump on the cloned food bandwagon?
I know photocopying and cloning are vastly different, but the concept is the same: reproducing an original. It’s never perfect. There is always something missing. And if you do it enough, and make reproductions of reproductions, well, there goes the whole food supply.
I am not comfortable with eating cloned foods. What about you?

Yes, they aren’t any different from other foods. Nothing to be afraid of.
