New Series: A History of AbortionDid you know that pennyroyal was used for hundreds of years to induce abortion? Did you also know that the earliest recorded recipe for an abortion-inducing medication was in 2600 BCE?* It’s a hot topic now, but it’s been around for a long time, and abortion’s history is worth exploring.

During the month of February, I’ll delve into abortion’s roots and the source of the controversy surrounding it. I’ll lead you through important milestones in its history, discuss traditional and more modern techniques in the US and around the world, introduce you to feminist literature that speaks to abortion, and hopefully spark some lively discussion.

What do you want to know about abortion? Leave a comment, and I’ll do my best to work your request into this series of posts.
