It’s Flu Season — Are You Prepared?
Not sure how I let it get this late, but it’s the end of November and I still haven’t gotten my flu shot! I made an appointment for December 4, and I hope I can hold out that long and not get sick in the meantime. I have an advantage over most people because I work from home. That means I don’t have to deal with public transportation, offices packed with people who have sick kids at home, and general exposure that most of the population has on a daily basis. But because I have asthma, my doctor says I need to be particularly careful during flu season. Have you had your flu shot yet? Better make an appointment soon! If you doctor is out of the flu shot or the nasal spray, you may try these locations:
- CVS Pharmacy
- Costco Discount Warehouse
- Your local grocery store
- Your office
- Your kids’ school
Do you avoid the flu shot? Tell us why!
Update, December 14, 2007: Flu shots now mandatory for New Jersey preschoolers

I don’t avoid it, but for whatever reason, I’ve only had one in my entire life. It was during my last semester of college, when I was student teaching. I figured I’d better, haha. Once I started working from home, I’ve just never gotten another one. I don’t know why…probably just laziness ;) It’s been so long since I’ve actually had the flu; I guess that gives me some kind of false security, haha.
