Jennifer Strange’s Family Sues Radio Station for Her Death
In January of this year, 28-year-old Jennifer Strange died of water intoxication after consuming close to 2 gallons of water in a radio station context to win a Nintendo Wii video game system. Her family is now bringing a wrongful-death lawsuit against the radio station for its role in Strange’s death.
Although I can’t speak to the group’s validity, WaterIntoxication.org raised some interesting points in their discussion of the suit:
1) People called in warning of the danger
2) DJs KNEW of the Cal State University Chico hazing incident (which many people do NOT know of)
3) DJs joking said contestants signed released forms which relieve them from responsibility (even death?)
4) DJs commented Jennifer’s stomach looked like she was 3 months pregnant (a DANGEROUS sign one has consumed too much of ANYTHING)
5) DJs heard that Jennifer said she didn’t feel very well.
What do you think? Is the lawsuit justified?
