I Think I’m Developing a Sugar Addiction
For the last month, I cannot stop eating junk! I crave chocolate at all hours of the day, salivate at the mere thought of doughnuts, and rifle through my purse in the desperate hope of finding forgotten mints from some long-ago dinner out. I’m not pregnant, and it doesn’t appear to be related to my hormonal cycle because it’s constant. I’m normally a pretty healthy eater (I usually crave apples or celery), so this is really weird for me. What’s going on? Has anyone else dealt with this?

Has your physician ruled out your medications? Some of the ones you have mentioned previously have been shown to increase appetite and cravings in some people.

Hmm, I didn’t think about that. I’ve been on Zoloft for several months now and this has started only just recently… I wonder if the dosage adjustment about two months ago has made a difference? But this has been going only about a month, so there would have been a 4-week delay. What do you think??

It takes awhile for medication side effects to kick in.
If you crave chocolate all the time, I’d suggest keeping some organic, like Green and Black around, and letting yourself have a bite now and then. The dark gives you the anti-oxidents, and it’s satisfying so you won’t scarf down the entire bar.

Eating a bit of super rich dark chocolate helps (I also have this problem). It’s so rich that it will turn off your cravings. You can easily eat a bunch of hackneyed sweets (and on the seventh day God created Little Debbie’s) but only a small portion of finely made sweets.
Now I’m hungry.
