Wishing you a light and lively Thanksgiving

Sorry to leave you hanging there a week with that oatmeal post — in case you’ve checked in and wondered why I haven’t written anything new lately.
My excuse! This blog has helped transform me into a lively woman — really! I’ve hardly had a minute to stop in and write — and the only reason why I have a minute now is because I thought I was showing up ten minutes late for my kids’ Thanksgiving feast at school — when actually I was an hour and a half early. YEA!
The ladies in the school kitchen might possibly think I planned it — as I dropped off my piping hot mac and cheese along with the other food. Now I’ve got to finish tying bows on some scented candles we’re giving to the kids’ teachers. After school, we’re stocking up on library books — then another trip to the grocery store to prepare food to take to Grandma’s house.
Busy week! God is so good, helping me feel more energetic than I’ve felt in years. I don’t know if you celebrate Thanksgiving this week wherever you are — but in this last bit of November as we prepare to jump into the holiday madness, I pray you can jot down a few things you’re thankful for. For me, I’m enjoying my children immensely — they’re true gifts from above.
If you’re feasting with family this week, remember how good it feels to be light and lively — not heavy and weighted down with too much food. I’m going to try to focus on the three-bite rule and enjoy the smells (no calories!) and the atmosphere — without losing sight of my weight-loss goals.
