Holiday Weight Management

Body for Life for Women
Here’s a fantastic Web MD article on how to survive the feasting season ahead. It all starts with that Halloween candy you buy — you feel guilt-free buying mini-Snickers because they’re for the Trick-or-Treaters, right? (And you sneak one or two, well maybe three or four … and then you go out and buy a new bag.)

Then there’s Thanksgiving, followed closely by all the December festivities, which are usually centered around food. The feasting season continues through New Year’s Day, Superbowl parties, and into Valentines. Every women’s magazine features chocolates and baked goodies you can make to impress. And of course we get ourselves so overwhelmed and stressed that we resort to emotional eating.

That was then, this is now. You aren’t the same person you were a year ago.

This year, it’s time to change your way of thinking. When you work hard and deserve a break, reward yourself with 30 minutes of working out in a fun environment, NOT a chocolate truffle (or two or twenty.) You’re worth it. Reward yourself with a new outfit in a size you haven’t bought in years. Drink water and feel so full that you can say no to all those holiday treats.

You aren’t alone. See? We can do this together! :) Just think how good you’ll feel and look if you can keep on with your fitness goals between now and New Year’s.
