Healthy Eating in the Silicon Valley

by Heather on October 3rd, 2006

Calm, Cool & Adjusted (Spa Girls Collection)If you love to read a good chick-lit novel, I highly recommend Calm, Cool, and Adjusted by Kristin Billerbeck. It’s the third installment in her Spa Girls trilogy, but you can jump right in and get caught up.

The main character, Poppy Clayton, is a bit obsessive about her health. She’s a chiropractor, partial to frothy-green health drinks, and is training every day for a triatholon. Running helps keep her “desperation scale” in check, as we all know how endorphins balance out our female hormonal weirdness.

Should Poppy date Mr. Perfect plastic surgeon, even though his whole practice seems to go against all of her au naturel beliefs? Or what about Simon, her patient with the misaligned back — what does he really want from her? It’s up to Poppy to decide, with the help of her two best friends, the Spa Girls, who help her escape the stress of the Silicon Valley at the Spa del Mar.
