Red Bell Peppers are Full of Vitamin C
I read today at the Dole Diet Center that 40% of men and 38% of women over age 19 have a Vitamin C deficiency.
We need Vitamin C to promote collagen formation, good immune function, and wound healing. So how can we get it?
One way is to incorporate more red bell peppers into your diet. A beautiful red bell pepper contains three times more vitamin C than green, and is also a great source of beta carotene, according to Women’s Health Magazine. In fact, half of one red bell pepper will give you 100% of your daily Vitamin C requirement.
With the cold and flu season just around the corner, you can be proactive now in boosting your immune system. Try slicing some red peppers in with your salads, sandwiches or scrambled eggs for breakfast. Kiwi, oranges, and broccoli are also good sources of Vitamin C.
