How to Drop Ten Pounds … the Right Way

Health with $5 BonusWhen you’re standing in line at the grocery store, have you ever noticed how alluring those women’s magazines are that promise you can eat anything you want and still lose ten, twenty, or thirty pounds? Doesn’t it ever make you disgusted to read those headlines, and then there’s also a picture of a giant chocolate cake, dripping with icing, on the cover as well?

I’ve learned you can’t have it all. Last night, I was feeling so discouraged, like a worn-out weepy slug. My emotions were dragging me down — but guess what I realized? My diet went haywire over the weekend. We attended two big gatherings, where there were lots of people, homemade BBQ on white buns, chips, homemade cakes and ice cream. I threw my diet out the window and ate everything.

Now, it would have been fine if I’d limited my portions (like people must do if they have weight-loss surgery) and filled up on plenty of water. But I ate the way I used to, and so I felt the way I used to.

But today is a new day. I feel a renewed zeal to stick to my goal of dropping ten pounds between now and December 1. My reward will be a snazzy new outfit to wear to Christmas parties. So between now and then, I must work hard to drop a pound a week. Everything I put into my mouth will move me one step closer or one step further away from my goal.

It’s up to me. I’m going to stay away from magazines full of false promises and lies. There are plenty of better things to read that tell me the truth. EAT THE RIGHT FOODS AND EXERCISE MORE. I know eating chocolate cake may taste good and give me a chocolate buzz for a few minutes — but eating yogurt or something healthy will keep me moving toward my goal.

A pound a week, a pound a week, a pound a week. If I can do it, you can too. The healthy way.

    I ate 10 gram of fat a day drank lots of water and i walked 2 miles a day. I lost a total of 30 pounds in 6 months. it was a slow loss of weight and it was healthy.
