One More Truth About Great Abs

Here’s one more hard-hitting truth that I needed to be reminded of today. Exercise alone will not help you meet your fitness goals most likely.

That stomach exercise site reminded me:

But absolutely none of even the best stomach exercises will burn any fat off your abs. The best stomach exercises will drastically strengthen and sculpt your stomach but you’ll never see your actual ab muscles unless you burn off the layer of fat covering them.

So it doesn’t matter if I do a hundred push-ups every hour of the day; if I’m also consuming a 3,000-calorie per day diet, and only burning off 1500 calories, then I’m going to gain, not lose weight. If there’s fat covering your gorgeous ab muscles, who’s going to see them?

OK, so just because I’ve walked for half an hour doesn’t mean I’m free to eat five cookies to reward myself. More details here.
