Protein Shakes for Chocolate Lovers

M-O-V-E. Move it.
That’s what I heard a speaker say recently — she was talking about getting our spiritual lives in shape, but I applied it to my fitness regimen. I’m trying to M-O-V-E it!
The other day I was marching in the kitchen, hoping to burn a few calories while I stirred something on the stove.
“Mama, do you need to go to the potty?” my 3-year-old asked me, with a knowing look in his eye.
“No, I’m just trying to exercise,” I told him.
I’ve reached a plateau, if you can call it that. After 3 full months of going to Curves, I’ve lost nothing. NADA! I still weigh 30 pounds more than I did two years ago, when I felt great.
Despite my getting a little more lively, nothing is happening with the scale. So I stopped on the way home at a nutrition shop and talked to an expert.
“What should I do?” I asked a lean, muscular guy with a tan. “I feel frumpy and tired all the time.” I didn’t want to tell him that I’m trying to become a Lively Woman so I can keep this job.
“You need PROTEIN!” He pointed a finger at me. “You gotta increase your protein. It’s real simple. Six small meals a day. Protein shakes between meals.” He explained a few things about carbs and fats and proteins and blah-blah-blah.
“I’ll take the chocolate,” I told him.
I’ll let you know what comes of this. :)
